A growth premium that holds across industries
When we line up every market we size, those with AI at their core grow markedly faster than the rest. The gap is not confined to software: AI-specific segments of semiconductors, healthcare, manufacturing, energy and defense all sit above the growth rates of their traditional neighbours. The reason is simple - AI is still being bought for the first time in most of these markets, while their conventional counterparts are replacement markets that grow with the wider economy.
Hardware is where the money is today
The biggest AI markets in 2025 are the ones you can touch: accelerators, servers, data centers and the cloud capacity sold on top of them. That reflects where spending has gone first - every model has to be trained and run somewhere. The software layers are smaller today but compound faster, which is why the ranking by 2035 looks different from the ranking by size in 2025.
What it means for buyers and suppliers
For suppliers, the premium is a window rather than a permanent state: growth slows as adoption matures. For buyers - strategy teams sizing an opportunity, investors comparing sectors - the useful question is less "is AI growing" than "which layer of the AI stack grows fastest in my industry, and from what base". About the data
All figures are Market-Reports.com estimates of global market revenue in US dollars, with 2025 as the base year and forecasts to 2035; growth rates are compound annual growth rates (CAGR) for 2025-2035. They come from our catalogue of more than 4,600 market reports across 19 industries, in which every market is sized on its own definition. Markets overlap - an AI server is also part of AI infrastructure - so the figures in this study must not be added together. Medians are calculated across all reports whose market name matches the theme, as published in October 2026.
